We found some fun little runs around the Evergreen area.
Somewhere on Turkey Creek Rd I saw a for sale sign for an acre of land. I want it.

We had a general idea of the roads we wanted to take,
but at one point we realized we didn't agree on where we were...
After studying the maps and pinpointing ourselves somewhere in the middle of my homemade map, we decided to check out Foxton Road, which turned out to be a great road.
Then, we came to a T intersection. Now, we can look at the maps all we want but it always seems that when we come upon a choice like this, invariably we go the unintended way.
Which we did. We turned left.
We traveled along for awhile when I finally said to him, "How long are we gonna continue before we stop and figure out where we are???"
This is Steve sayin, "Hunh. I don't know how I got you on this DIRT and GRAVEL road. I didn't mean to..." HA. Yeah right. LOL!
Platte River Road. That's what we were on!
Thank you to our trusty travel guide, "The Complete Guide to Motorcycling Colorado," by Steve Farson.
Tree.
Oh look! It's those WILD MOUNTAIN Kawasakis!!!
Have to admit, though, it was awesome to have the area almost to ourselves. So quiet.
Along this stretch of the road, I think we only saw 2 or 3 vehicles.
The hotel from back in the good ol' days...
Once we got back on trusty tarmac, it was Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!!
There are lots of places to picnic 'round here.
...My dauthers will appreciate these foot shots...
Well, now that I have that stretch of dirt and gravel under my tires, I gave in to one of Steve's wishes. Our next destination road: Guanella Pass. We scooted over to Grant and headed up and over to Georgetown. The first few miles was pretty rough although it is clear they maintain it since we met up with the big road grader. I bet he thought we were nuts riding over that on street bikes!
This is Steve pretending again to be woeful that he got me into such a predicament. Don't let him fool you. He enjoyed every minute of it!
Once we got to the area of broken chip and seal, I was having a great time slalom-ing through the chunks of broken pavement! After that it is beautiful brand-new asphalt that is smooth as silk all the way to Georgetown.

You have to look at these two pictures in quick succession.
I was prancing like a little doe. Prance, prance!
Guanella pass is one of the spectacular ones, and much less traveled than the other stunners (like Independence, or Berthoud, or Loveland, or Trail Ridge, etc., you get the idea).
You should go see it.
Yep. That's my ass.
Here are some action shots of Steve:
Mountain Goats! We also saw during this trip 2 moose, a couple big horn sheep (that was very cool), a bunch of Elk and Deer, some antelope a weasel, and a badger. No bears. Oh, and some buffalo, but they were on ranches so I don't think that counts.
